With wedding season upon us, here’s some inspiring images from a recent mock wedding photoshoot at Creature Comforts Brewery. If you don’t already know, it’s a great new craft brewery in Athens, Georgia, with an industrial vibe and an immense open space that can be dressed up or down. This shoot features ivory, gold and lots of green in the form of moss, ferns, and succulents. Throw in some pin-tucked ivory linens and gold for shine, and you’ve got a simple, elegant look that will keep your wedding day pics classic and timeless;) While I managed to pull together the design and decor, this was a collaboration of some very talented folks (aka Athen’s wedding insiders) including: Fabulous photography by Sara + Logan, amazing makeup by Jeni Smith, a swanky up-do by Erin Collins (Stylist @Pageboy Salon), colorful treats by Homemade, specialty rentals (linens, glassware & bingo spinner) from Barron’s Rental Center and special thanks to Shannon Vinson, event coordinator at Creature Comforts, who put up with all of us throughout the shoot!!!! Enjoy!

I’ve been a fan of Creature Comforts Brewery since I first found out about them- and not just for their craft beers! Located in a warehouse that formerly housed a Chevy Dealership followed by a Tire Company, the building underwent a remarkable transformation- without sacrificing any of it’s historic charm. The original tinted garage door windows claim the front of the building, while inside, huge brewing tanks line up like dominoes along a back wall. Within, a vaulted ceiling of interwoven wood and steel beams overlook two bar areas, each featuring backsplash walls of reclaimed wood, colorful chalkboard menus, and copper pendant lights. As an event space, Creature Comforts Brewery is a unique addition to the list of venues in, and around, Athens. It offers up a trendy, industrial atmosphere to the Athens wedding scene, including a host of great brews!
The pics above give a glimpse of a recent photo shoot I put together at the Brewery. Thanks to Sara Wise of Sara Wise Photography for sharing the top pic with me at the shoot (and showing me some great photo editing apps:) Stay posted for more to come!!
